Mark was born on October 25, 1962, in Denver, Colorado, to Alvera (Depperschmidt) Jackson and James E. Jackson. He passed away on September 3, 2026, in Spiro, Oklahoma. On July 20, 1991, he married Tawnya (Smith) Jackson in Spiro, Oklahoma. Tawnya was truly the love of Mark’s life. He adored her more than anything, and the love they shared was at the very heart of his life.
Mark was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. Work was an important part of who he was, and when he was no longer able to work, it was something he truly missed.
More than anything, Mark loved his family. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him, and being surrounded by those he loved brought him his greatest happiness. He was a jokester who could always bring laughter into a room and was affectionately known as the “favorite” brother and uncle—although his family would probably say he was simply the favorite, period. Mark had a personality people did not forget. He was loved by everyone he met, and if you had the privilege of knowing him, chances are you walked away with a story, a laugh, and a memory of him that stayed with you.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Alvera Jackson; brother, Ken Jackson; and father-in-law, William Dale Smith and nephew, Dustin Jackson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Tawnya Jackson; son, David Daugherty II and wife Leslie; daughters, Andrea Shoup and husband Justin, and Leann Jones and husband Brandon; grandchildren, Canon and wife Delanie, Oakley, Ella, Braxton, Raycee, Hadilee, Stayley, Saylor, Josephine, and Henry; great-granddaughter, Millie; brothers, Daryl Jackson, Kevin Jackson, and Chad Jackson; sisters, Kathy Richard, Mary Dinges, and Colette Chesner; mother-in-law, Wanda Smith; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many loved ones and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Daugherty II, Justin Shoup, Brandon Jones, Canon Shoup, Braxton Biernacki, Oakley Shoup, Bryon Clark, and Luke Chesner.
Mark leaves behind a family who loved him deeply, countless memories filled with laughter, and a presence that will be impossible to replace. He was one of those people you simply did not forget.
