Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and a host of friends who loved her dearly
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Lena Shelton; three brothers Billy Gene Shelton, Bobby Shelton, and Randy Shelton; and one sister, Dona Holland.
Martha, a beloved resident of the community and a proud graduate of Mansfield High School, class of 1975, left a lasting impact on all who knew her. After earning her LPN degree from Westark Community College, she dedicated 40 years of life to nursing and retired from PinkBud Home for the Golden Years in Greenwood, Arkansas. Martha’s passion for caring for others was evident in her work, and she found great joy in making a difference in her patients’ lives.
In addition to her nursing career, Martha was a licensed CPA, showcasing her diverse talents and dedication to her community. A devout member of the Pentecostal faith, she actively participated in Tyro Community Church, where she found fellowship and friendship.
Martha cherished her time spent with family and friends, always sharing her radiant smile that could brighten any room. She was known for her warmth and friendliness, never hesitating to greet a stranger with kindness. Martha will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Her legacy of compassion and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Funeral service to honor Martha’s life will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the Tyro Community Church 8401 AR 252 Hackett, Arkansas 72937 with Pastor Steve Quick. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Panama, Oklahoma under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be 12 Noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday. Family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: David Oliver, David Hudgens, Mark Oliver, Cash Oliver, Charley Crosswell, Charley Ritchie, and David Stover.
