Mary Janette Barnes, 77, of Spiro, Oklahoma, passed away on March 28, 2026, in Spiro, Oklahoma. She was born on December 26, 1948, in Spiro, Oklahoma, to Hazel (McCage) Skelton and James Walter “Buck” Skelton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro, Oklahoma, with Reverend Eddie Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Walter Skelton; and her brothers, Rob Skelton and Eugene Skelton.
She enjoyed reading and loved to shop. Janette especially enjoyed going to the casino and watching and ordering from the jewelry channel. She dedicated over 20 years of service to Elara Caring, where she worked faithfully and compassionately.
She is survived by her sons, Allan Barnes and wife Mindy, and Carl Barnes; her grandchildren, Bronx, Kharma, Gracie, and Memphis; her great-grandchildren, Cohen and Conrad; her brother, James Skelton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loved ones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allan Barnes, Carl Barnes, Greg Skelton, Jimbo Skelton, Ronnie Barnes, and Harold Garner.
