Maxine Kendall, 92, of Monroe, Oklahoma, passed away on August 25, 2025, in Pocola, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Monroe Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery in Monroe, Oklahoma, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Maxine was born on November 24, 1932, in Leflore, Oklahoma to Nora (John) Stockton and Oscar Stockton. She was married to Earl Wayne Kendall, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her grandson, Barry Haney; two brothers; and four sisters.
Maxine was known for her warm heart and love for her neighbors—she especially enjoyed visiting and sharing stories with them. She was a talented seamstress and had a creative touch when it came to cake decorating. She also took great pride in her canning skills, preserving not only food but family traditions.
She is survived by her daughter, Claudean Kendall; her son, Jimmy Kendall and his wife Debbie; grandchildren, Brandi Meeks and husband Chad, Christy Kendall and  husband Justin Hoopengarner, Lisa Roof, and George Haney; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Dartyn Meeks, Jody Frazier, Justin Hoopengarner, Joe Mode, Donnie Dewitt, and Rodney Johnson. Chad Meeks will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
