Memorial Service for Charles Ross Eaton, 54 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma.
Charles Ross Eaton, Sr. of Poteau, Oklahoma passed away on May 29, 2023, at the age of 54. He was born in Arlington, Texas on October 7, 1968. His adoptive parents were the late Larry Don Eaton, Sr. and Betty Skinner. He graduated from Sunset High School in Oak Cliff, Texas, Class of 1986. At 18 years old he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was accommodated for his service in Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Those who met him knew him as Big Charley due to his larger-than-life stature as well as his personality. He had a deep love for the outdoors and connecting with nature. He loved hunting in the woods, always searching for that big buck, but also in the ponds when the ducks flew in. But above all there was not a day that went by that he wasn’t wishin’ he was fishin’. He had an artistic side to him through his many years of work doing custom automobile paint jobs, doing tattoos, and eventually learning to make custom wood cabinetry. He had a smile that would brighten the whole room and will not be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife, Toni Eaton of Poteau, Oklahoma; stepson, Kyler Plummer of Poteau, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Aria Plummer; stepdaughter, Tayley Abrahams and husband Shane of Spiro, Oklahoma; grandson, EZ; son, Charles Ross Eaton, Jr and wife Stephanie Realivasquez of Anna, Texas; grandson, Jacob Realivasquez,; and granddaughter, Lilianna Zamora; and other extended family.
Charles was preceded in death by his son, Carlos Rey Eaton; brother, Larry Don Eaton, Jr.; grandparents, Sul Ross King and Lucille Arnold King.
Cremation is under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
