Michael Dale Sockey, 71, of Pocola, OK passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 in Mercy Hospital. Mike was born in Poteau, OK on July 22, 1950 to Richard & Ernestine (Ferguson) Sockey. After graduating in 1967 from Pocola High School, Mike moved to Bakersfield, CA with his grandparents where he DJ’d for Buck Owens’ radio station. For years he was a cross-country truck driver until retirement. Mike enjoyed the simple things in life and brought many smiles to friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, but was the first of six children to pass away.

Survivors include two daughters, Chrystl Lee Miller (Sam) and Nisha Sockey and son, Anthony Dale Steiber and four grandchildren. Mike also leaves behind two sisters: Judy Hogan (David) of Fort Smith and Beverly of Pocola; and three brothers: Richard of Poteau, Larry (Katie) of Pocola and Bobby of Jenny Lind.

Cremation is under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Pocola, Ok. A private family service will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Ok.
