Funeral service for Nancy Marie Standifer, 72 of Howe, Oklahoma will be at 10:00am Friday, July 23 2021 at Grace Memorial Chapel in Poteau, Oklahoma with Pastor Jim Reed officiating. Services are under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Nancy was born on October 15, 1948 in Ontario, California to Bertha (Boyd) Alexander and passed away on July 19, 2021 in her home. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many.
Nancy and her husband Jerry married on December 17, 1966. She and Jerry had many adventures and travels together. They went camping, cruising around the World and staying in cheap motels together. She would always reminisce about the worst motels that Jerry picked. With all their many travels she always loved to get home to her three children, Jerry Jr. and wife Tammy Standifer of Howe, Oklahoma, Ronda and Steve Tucker of Poteau, Oklahoma and Amanda Tucker of Poteau, Oklahoma. Nancy also had six grandchildren Colton “Trey” Standifer, Emily Standifer, Tiffany Tucker, Dylan Tucker, Eric Tucker and Colby Tucker. Nancy loved to have her family around. She would prepare Sunday lunch each week no matter how she felt so her family could join her and relax and enjoy one another. Each year she would work tirelessly to create Thanksgiving at the cabin and Christmas Dinner at home.
She loved cooking and having her children and grandchildren there to share in her love. One of her greatest joys of recent was the birth of her great grandsons Carter and Casen Standifer. She enjoyed countless times feeding Carter homemade chocolate chip cookies and looking for the train on her farm game on her iPad. Nancy will also be missed by her sister Dian Evans and husband Larry, brother Donnie and wife Jeanie Alexander, and sister Alice Alexander. They have played many pinochle and other games together.
Nancy was preceded in death by her Mother Bertha Alexander. Nancy was loved by many and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Viewing for Nancy will be Thursday from 9:00am – 7:00pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Colton “Trey” Standifer, Emily Standifer, Tiffany Tucker, Dylan Tucker, Eric Tucker, and Colby Tucker.
