Funeral Service for Ollen Odean Nichols, 92 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with Phil McGehee, and Tom Lackey officiating.
Burial will follow at Vaughn Cemetery in Gilmore, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Ollen was born on September 23, 1931 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Eva Jane (Stacy) Nichols and Marion Sylvester Nichols and passed away on June 3, 2024 in Poteau, Oklahoma. He was married to Sue Nichols on June 6, 2015 in Poteau, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Betty Nichols; three brothers; and three sisters. Ollen started out working on his parents farm in Leflore county, where he helped operate three family saw mills. He was a FFA member, and advanced education through college. He had a lengthy career with Metropaliton Insurance Company.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Nichols; daughter, Rhonda Hargis and husband Wynn; sons, Richard Nichols and wife Regina, Ronny Nichols and wife Cheryl (Bunny), Randy Nichols and wife Hilary; numerous grandchildren, great grand children, and great great grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Luker, Stan Borella, and Bob Lindstrom.
Visitation will be Friday, June 7, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
