Omega was born on February 21, 1952, in Spiro, Oklahoma, to James William Mathis, Sr. and Mary Odessa (Lord) Mathis. She passed away on August 4, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Omega dedicated 25 years of her life to educating young minds as an elementary school teacher in Tulsa. She was a faithful member of Carbondale Assembly of God Church in Tulsa, where her faith remained an important part of her life.
Above all, Omega treasured her family. She loved spending time with her daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandsons, creating memories they will cherish forever. She especially enjoyed making homemade candy with her granddaughter, Ashley, a tradition that brought them both great joy. Omega also loved traveling, sightseeing, and browsing thrift stores in search of unique treasures. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and love for life’s simple pleasures will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Rudolph; her granddaughter, Ashley Rudolph; her great-grandsons, Elijah Davis and Leo Davis; her sister, Wenonah Sweet; her brothers, James Mathis, Jr. and wife, Pamela, and Douglas Mathis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
