He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pearl Cast; and three sisters Faye Billings, Margie Sheppard, and Evelyn Hewlett.
Paul was a lifelong resident of the area and dedicated rancher. He was a cherished member and song leader of Covenant Church in Poteau, Oklahoma. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and held a deep sense of duty and honor throughout his life.
As a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, he created lasting memories with his family and friends. Paul had a passion for raising cattle and enjoyed visiting the sale barn, where he embraced the community he loved. Paul was known for his strong Christian faith and song leading style. His warm spirit and kindness touched many lives, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service honoring Paul’s life will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Covenant Church in Poteau, Oklahoma with Brother Keith Williams and Brother Ron Billings officiating. Interment will follow in Heavener Memorial Park with military honor rights from the Poteau DAV Chapter #63 under the care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Todd Hackler, Eric Hackler, Neal Cast, Mitchell Stacy, Nick Norris, and Roger Sheppard.
Honorary Pallbearer will be: Larry Stacy
Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday with family visiting with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Dowden-Robert Funeral & Cremation Center, 28918 205th Ave, Poteau, Oklahoma.
