Graveside Service for Raymond Dale Hamby, 74 of Spiro, Oklahoma will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 21, 2013 at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Brother Kevin Brown officiating. Services are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma.
He was born on February 9, 1949 in Delano, California to Joyce Adine (Smith) and Raymond Martin Hamby and passed away on February 15, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Nora (Smith) Hamby on September 4, 1969 in Spiro, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dennis Hamby and Norman Hamby. Raymond was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, served in the United States Marine Corp, he worked for the Corp of Engineers as a lock and dam operator at Mayo #14 for 42 years, enjoyed tinkering on old vehicles and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, of 53 years, Nora Hamby; son, Dale Hamby and wife Nancy; 4 grandchildren, Krissi Hamby and Jeremy Smith, Katie Hamby and Jennifer Ramey, Spencer Spangler, Chandler Spangler and Damion Fulbright; two great grandchildren, Cailyn Smith and Alison Restine, numerous other relatives and friends.
