Rebecca Darlene Fruen, 67, passed away on November 16, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas with her family at her side. Rebecca was born on December 24, 1957, in Fort Smith, Oklahoma to parents Odell and Wanda (Beshers) English. Rebecca was proud of her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and her close friends Roger and Nancy Putman. She would never pass up a chance to share her newest corny joke. Rebecca will be truly missed. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Fruen, her sister Judy Dixon, and her brother Darrell English.
Rebecca is survived by her children James Fruen and wife Lauren of Poteau, Oklahoma, Stephen Fruen and wife Sky of Poteau, Oklahoma, Samantha Fitzer and husband Orbie of Cameron, Oklahoma, and Brandon Fruen and wife Tarah of Cameron, Oklahoma, her grandchildren Sydney Smith and husband Noah, Cody Fitzer, Braden Fitzer, Syler Fruen, Ry Fruen, Tru Fruen Bryer Fruen, Shelby Fitzer, Lexie Fruen, Abby Fitzer, Dawson Fruen, and Jason Fruen, her brother Danny English of Fort Smith, Arkansas, her sister Pam Hendrix of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and her special best friends and her ride or die partners, Roger and Nancy Putman, along with many other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Services for Rebecca will be held 11am – Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Graveside at Ellis Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Jones officiating and burial to follow. The Family of Rebecca Fruen will greet friends from 5pm – 7pm, Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be Cody Fitzer, Braden Fitzer, Syler Fruen, Ry Fruen, Tru Fruen, Bryer Fruen, Dawson Fruen, and Jason Fruen.
