Private Family Services for Robert James “Bob” Carpenter will be held at a later date with burial at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola.

Robert James "Bob" Carpenter was born September 20, 1940 in Torrance, Los Angeles County, California to Harold Hiram & Marian Agnes (Hodge) Carpenter. He passed away at the age of 81 on February 10, 2022 in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, AR. Robert met and married JoAnn Cox on June 29, 1961 in Los Angeles, CA. They were happily married for almost 61 years. He received training in the US Air Force for electrical plumbing. He worked for 34 years for the Fort Smith Public School System as maintenance supervisor and retired in May of 2002. Robert enjoyed building houses for his family, growing a big garden, mowing his lawn which he kept immaculate and fishing on Sardis Lake, whenever he could.

Survivors are: Spouse, JoAnn Carpenter; daughters, Denise Ann "Dee Dee" Macy and husband Charles Wesley Macy, Julie Marie Perkins and husband Dan "Nubbin" Perkins all of Rock Island; four grandchildren, Ashley Dawn Gregory Villegas and husband James Villegas of Rock Island, OK, Kyle Dewayne Gregory & partner Alex Dotulong of Barling, AR, Robert Logan "Bobby" Beals and girlfiend Brooke Washington of Spiro, OK, and Liam Wilson & spouse Tia of Spiro, OK; three great grandchildren, Krystian Zane Perrine, Myla Shauneen Villegas both of Rock Island, OK, and Oliver Logan Beals of Spiro, OK; sister in law, Kay Daubenberger of Rock Island, OK; niece, Gretchin Fisher and husband Rob Fisher of Blackburn, OK; nephew, Matthew Daubenberger of Rock Island, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Hiram Carpenter and Marian Agnes Carpenter, and sister, Alice Berry.
