Ronald Floyd Goins, 86, of Pocola, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully at 11:31 am on July 3, 2025, in his hometown. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola, Oklahoma, with Reverend Brad Kuhl and Reverend Anthony Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Ronald was born on March 19, 1939, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Edna Mae (Boyd) Goins and Arthur J. Goins. He was united in marriage to Maelene Goins on July 14, 1959, in Spiro, Oklahoma—a union that became the foundation of a loving and devoted family.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Ronald served his country with honor and continued to live a life marked by dedication and service. He worked for many years at Lowery Bros Tire from 1968 to 1982 and later retired from Marvin Altman (Sparks) as a maintenance technician. For two decades, Ronald was a familiar face at Tri-State Speedway, serving as the flagman each weekend—an enduring symbol of his love for racing and community. After retirement, Ronald and Maelene spent sixteen years traveling and serving as camp hosts, enjoying life and making memories together.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and 2 daughters, Cheryl Lynn Goins and Rhonda Hayes; brothers, Donald, Darrell, and Ricky Goins; and sisters, Carol, Shirley, and Reba.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maelene Goins; daughter, Melissa Cantrell and husband Jim; son, Ronnie Wayne Goins; sister, Helen Walton; grandchildren, Justin Tankersley and wife Heather, Eric Tankersley, Crystal Hayes, Cassy Martz and husband Cameron, Zachary Cantrell and wife Tiara, and Kadey Kuriatnyk and husband Jordan. He also leaves behind sixteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
Pallbearers will be Justin Tankersley, Eric Tankersley, Zachary Cantrell, Jordan Kuriantnyk, Cameron Martz, and Jim Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers include Anthony Allen, Nathan Allen, Danny Farmer, Shane Lowery, Brent Lowery, Shawn Lowery, Tommy Saulter, Billy Saulter, and Gerald Robert Lairamore.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home, with the family greeting friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
