Ronald Ray Sawyers, 82, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, August 03, 2020 in Poteau. Ronald was born May 14, 1938 in Coalgate, OK to Leroy & Flora Mae (Alford) Sawyers. He had many occupations from Nabisco Cookie Salesman, car salesman, state parks fee collector, to owner of Ron’s Longtown Service Station where he was lovingly referred to as Mayor of Longtown, OK. He was a veteran of the Army Reserves. He was preceded in death by his parents & wife, Lavena Mills Sawyers.
Survivors include his daughters & son in law, DeLaun & Sam Abbott of Poteau, OK, Lisa Krieg & Pam Sanford of Norman, OK, Karen Krieg & Karen Neal of Mission, TX; grandson, Dillon Williams & wife Byanka of Ft. Worth, TX; granddaughter, Briley Abbott of Poteau, OK; great granddaughter, Devynn Williams of Ft. Worth, TX; brother & sister in law, Eldon & Linda Sawyers of Ada, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Graveside service was 10 am, Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore, OK
