Graveside Services for Roy Dale Loyd, age 75, of Leflore, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, at LeFlore Cemetery in Leflore, Oklahoma, with Brother Tracy Loyd officiating. Burial will follow at LeFlore Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Roy was born on December 7, 1949, in Mena, Arkansas, to Dorothy Mae (McCauley) Loyd and Gilbert Loyd, Sr. He passed away on September 18, 2025, in Poteau, Oklahoma. On October 30, 1974, he married the love of his life, Linda (Carshall) Loyd, in Poteau. Together they shared 50 years of marriage.
Roy worked as a welder in construction and took great pride in his craft. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving his country honorably in Vietnam from 1968–1971. Roy loved spending time outdoors and could often be found working in his workshop. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Clifford Loyd.
Roy is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Loyd; daughters, Christy Chaser and husband B.J., Ruthie Cannon and husband Jarrett, and Sophia Ashcraft; son, Roy Loyd, Jr. and wife Amy; grandchildren, Ashley, Eli, McKenzie, Boston, Noah, Ardyn, Jordan, Jaxson, Mishaya, Bethany, and Gavin; great-grandsons, Owen, Ryder, Micah, Cameron, Jasper-Tate, and Charlie; siblings, Gilbert Loyd, Jr., Margaret Ann Phillips, Bill Loyd, Kathy Fall, Donald Loyd, Doris Suber, Donna Gunn, John Loyd, Randy Loyd, and Jimmy Loyd; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loved ones. He also leaves behind special friends, Cooper Newman and Cason Newman.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Chaser, Jarrett Cannon, Matt Hart, Jaxson Cannon, Gavin Mode, and Noah Chaser.
