Samuel Wayne Ford of Wister, Oklahoma was born January 9, 1946 in Wister, Oklahoma to John Burton and Edith (Green) Ford and passed away January 14, 2019 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 73.

 

She is survived by:

Four daughters:
Christe Makovy of Heavener, Oklahoma
Trina Spykerman of Poteau, Oklahoma
Cathy Grace of Norman, Oklahoma
Kashell Ford of Paduca, Kentucky

One sister:
Bonnie Brown of Poteau, Oklahoma

Three brothers:
Jerry Ford and wife Dorothy of Poteau, Oklahoma
Charles Ford and wife Rosemary of Sallisaw, Oklahoma
Dennis Ford and wife Carol of Wister, Oklahoma

Six grandchildren

Five great-grandchildren

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends

 

He was preceded in death by his parents. Sam was a life-long resident of Wister, a member of the Wister Church of God Seventh Day, and a retired roofer.

 

He loved spending time in the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. Sam had many friends and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Church of God Seventh Day in Wister, Oklahoma with Elder Chip Hinds and Elder Lamar Ford officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Ellis Chapel cemetery under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

 

Pallbearers will be: Rocky Makovy, Josh Pickle, Tory Huff, Rocky Crane, Ricky Crane, and Clendon Brown.

 

Viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, with the family visiting with friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
