Sharla Paulette (Goforth) Perkins, 75, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2026, at her home in Spiro, Oklahoma. Paulette was born on May 6, 1951, in Poteau, Oklahoma to parents Bennie Goforth and Kathryn Cotner. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend whose family meant everything to her.

Throughout her life, Paulette especially enjoyed being in the lives and activities of her children and grandchildren. She loved raising puppies, traveling, meeting new people, making new friends, hummingbirds, animals, and her beautiful flowers, especially roses. She was incredibly proud of her children and felt blessed with the birth of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paulette was deeply protective of the people she loved and always put her family first. Paulette’s husband of thirty-one years, Billy Frank Perkins, was her very best friend and the love of her life. Together they faced both the joys and the hardships of life, hand in hand. Paulette grew up in the Baptist church and loved the Lord with all her heart.

Paulette is survived by her husband, Billy Frank Perkins; her son, Joe Cotner, and his wife, Stephanie Cotner, of Wadena, Minnesota; granddaughter Jessica Dodd, and her husband Robert Dodd; great-grandsons Elliot Dodd and Julian Dodd of Edmond, Oklahoma; granddaughter Katie Erickson and spouse Xella Erickson of Wadena, Minnesota; her daughter Kathryn Ryburn-Marquez of Spiro, Oklahoma; granddaughter Abigayle Rollins of Spiro, Oklahoma; step-daughter Tina McClary and her husband, Shannon McClary, of Cameron, Oklahoma; grandson Kyle McClary and Brittany Cooper; great-grandson Winston McClary of Cameron, Oklahoma; and David McClary and Sadie Clark of Cameron, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind her beloved French bulldog Remi, and grand-dog Roxie.

Paulette was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Goforth, and her mother, Kathryn Cotner.

Paulette will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved her family and friends deeply and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The Celebration of Life Services for Paulette will be held 10am – Thursday, October 8, 2026, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma with Brother Clyde Hess officiating and burial to follow at Fairhill/ Knothole Cemetery. The Family of Paulette Perkins will greet friends from 5pm – 7pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, also at The Cedars on Dewey.
