Shirley Louise Swindle, 69, passed away on July 17, 2025, in McAlester, Oklahoma surrounded by her family and friends. Shirley was born on April 2, 1956, in Santa Maria, California to parents Muril Wayne and Betty Sue (Lovell) Tackett. Shirley was one of a kind. She was loud, ornery, hilarious, always giving out random nicknames, and a tiny little fireball, full of energy, who loved big and brought an energy into a room that no one could replace. She helped so many kids through the years by filling in the gap when others couldn’t. You could call her in the middle of the night, and she would show up in minutes. She was a Christian, a daughter, a sister, a mom, an aunt, a nana, a cousin, a great aunt, and a friend. In all those roles, she was someone to admire. There are no words to explain how much she will be missed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter Gracie Carol Swindle, her parents Wayne and Betty Tackett, and her sister Vicki Hettinger.

Shirley is survived by her husband Kim of the home, her daughters Tabitha Johnson and husband Wade of Wilburton, Oklahoma and Kaylee Swindle of the home, her sons William Swindle of the home, Jesse Swindle and Kate of Stewart, Oklahoma, Nicholas Swindle of McAlester, Oklahoma, her granddaughters MacKenzie and Taylor Brunson, Madison, Khloie, Marlee, Harper, Foxy, and Jaclynn, her grandsons Maddox, Lincoln, Treyson, Ezra, Caleb, and Cayden, and her great grandchildren Navy and Jack, her sister Caroline Rees and husband Ricky of Milton, Oklahoma, special family Kirstin Martinez and Ashley Wade, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
