Memorial Service for Steven Wayne Doshier, 58 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Shady Point Community Center in Shady Point, Oklahoma.
Steven Wayne Doshier (Sleeveless Steve) was born August 11, 1964 in Gardena, California to Bob and Carolyn Doshier. He passed away on June 21, 2023 in Poteau, Oklahoma at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his dad, Bob Doshier; mother, Carolyn Doshier; son, Andy Baker; brother, Donnie Doshier; niece, Kaylee Dawn; and beloved pet, Apache. Steve was an avid OU football and softball fan, as well as a Nascar fan with Dale Earnhardt being his favorite.
Steve worked in the oilfield for 30 years. He was a hard worker. The last job he worked at was Poteau High School where he was the custodian and took care of the field house. He loved his job there along with all of his kids and faculty. This is where he earned the name “Sleeveless Steve”. Steve made the decision in January 2023 to live life to the fullest and decided to stop chemo for his lung cancer. He was able to travel and make many memories doing that. He woke up each day and thanked God for the day and he embraced it. He woke up with a smile but knowing that the day could be his last.
Survivors include his three sisters, Debbie Doshier of Monroe, Oklahoma, Tracy Doshier of Monroe, Oklahoma, Bobbi Jo Doshier of Dardanelle, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Lacey Baker; granddaughter, Brooklee Baker; and beloved pet, Mac; three nieces, Emma, Amber, and DJ; two nephews, Nick, and Mike; numerous great nieces and nephews; special aunt and uncle, Pat and Obie Hamlin of Moore, Oklahoma; special cousins, Ronda Hill, and Teresa Hensley.
Cremation is under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
