Memorial Service for Sue Jane Yarbery, 94 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma with Brother Cory Thompson officiating.
Sue Jane Yarbery was born on March 18, 1931, in Lone Pine, Oklahoma, to Martha Jane (Rose) Weatherford and Clovis Weatherford. She passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, in Poteau, Oklahoma.
Sue was united in marriage to Elmer Yarbery on July 23, 1949, in Texas. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Elmer Yarbery; her brothers; Shirley Weatherford, and William Weatherford.
Sue was a proud tribal member of the Choctaw Nation. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — feeding and listening to birds, sewing, and crocheting. She absolutely adored her dogs, Rattler and LeRoy, who brought her constant companionship and happiness.
She is survived by her son, Mike Yarbery and wife Lori; her sister, Anna Jo Spottedbear; her brother, Ronnie Weatherford and wife Judy; nieces, Leishawn Spottedbear and Kevin Payjack, Carla Pohl and husband Tony; along with numerous other relatives and loved ones who will cherish her memory.
