Timothy Joe “Tim” Renfro, 58, of Pocola, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Tim was born on March 18, 1968, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Joe and Martha (Durham) Renfro. Tim was an accountant by profession and a hard-working family man who took great pride in providing for and caring for those he loved.
Tim loved Jesus, his wife, and his children with all his heart. He also shared a special bond with his sisters, Jamie and Susan, whom he loved dearly. Family meant so much to Tim, and in recent months, he and his mom, Martha, were blessed with a lot of extra time together as she took him to his doctor’s appointments. What began as trips to appointments became precious time spent together—time that created memories she will always treasure.
Tim had a big heart, a funny sense of humor, and a stubborn streak that those who knew and loved him will surely remember with a smile. He enjoyed OSU football, fishing, Jeeps, and golf—although he would probably agree he wasn’t very good at it. More than anything, Tim was happiest simply being at home, spending time with the people he loved, and sitting outside soaking up the sunshine.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Kimberley (Connelly) Renfro, whom he affectionately called “Kimmie”; his children, Forever Nicole Renfro, Ryder Joe Renfro, and Rindi Beth Renfro; his mother, Martha Renfro; his sisters, Jamie Shaddon and husband John, and Susan Olivarez and husband Leo; as well as a host of special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Joe “Poppa Joe” Renfro. In his younger years, he enjoyed the time he spent with his dad, working cattle together. He was also preceded in death by mother-in-law, Viola Connelly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave in Poteau, Oklahoma. (Holt Funeral and Cremation Chapel)
A Celebration of Tim’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Cross Community Church 504 S Pocola Blvd in Pocola, Oklahoma, with Pastors Matt Duke and Jason Waymire officiating. A private family burial will follow at Fairhill “Knothole” Cemetery in Cameron, Oklahoma.
Casket bearers will be Ryder Renfro, John Perry, Phil Hamlin, Shawn Sweeten, and Ronnie Oehlschlager.
Honorary Casket bearers will be Rusty Baker and Leo Olivarez.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Gideons International.
Tim will be remembered for his faith, his love for Kimmie and his children, the special bonds he shared with his mom and sisters, his humor, his big heart, and his ability to find happiness in the simple things. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter, and memories he gave his family will remain with them always.
