Tommie Lee Williams of the Lovings Community was born August 8, 1949 in the Haw Creek Community to Virgil Williams and Susie (Ayers) Williams) and passed away January 10, 2025 in Poteau, Oklahoma at the age of 75.

 

He is survived by:

 

His wife of 53 years:

Patsy Williams of the home

 

Three sons:

Bethel Williams and wife Kristy

Ross Williams and wife Carie Jo

Marcel Williams and wife Ashley all three of Heavener, Oklahoma

 

Two sisters:

Virgie Steelman of Wister, Oklahoma

Judy Irvin of Heavener, Oklahoma

 

Eight grandchildren

 

Numerous great-grandchildren

 

Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and enough friends (old and new) to fill up Oklahoma

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Patsy Vinson. Tommie was a life-long resident of the area and a 100% Disabled Army veteran, serving his country in the Vietnam Era. He was a logger, owned and operated Williams’ Service Station in Heavener for several years, and was a cattle and poultry farmer. Tommie was an avid hound’s man and coyote hunter. He had suffered a lot in the past two years and it just finally came to a halt. He has passed through the golden gates of Heaven to wait for his family and friends. See you later, Pop.

 

A memorial service to honor Tommie’s life will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Freedom House Fellowship, 20977 Independence Road in Heavener, Oklahoma with Brother Sam Dyer and Brother Bob Cherry officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

 

The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until service time Thursday at the church.
