Treca Mae Balentine, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in her Fanshawe, Oklahoma home. She was born September 11, 1943 in Poteau to Ernie and Bertie (Stacy) Cauthron.  She graduated from Fanshawe High School in 1961 and married her school sweetheart, Audrey Balentine on December 21, 1963. The couple made their home in Panola, where they were blessed with a son, Bobby Joe. Treca received her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and was a devoted educator at Panola, Buffalo Valley, Haileyville, Wilburton, Spiro and Heavener Schools.  Treca was a devout Christian and active member at Southside Baptist Church in Poteau, Oklahoma, constantly serving behind the scenes. She found great joy in cooking for others, quilting with friends, and loving on family. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 60 years, Aud Balentine; her son, Bob Balentine and wife, Nina of Memphis, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Lancaster and husband Jason; Molly Minor and husband Jeremy; Seth Balentine; Vladmir DeWys; and Roman DeWys; and great-grandchildren Samuel, Henley, Colton, Ella, and Bennett Minor; sisters Cathryn Howard and Jean Rowland; brother Ernie Cauthron and wife Kaye; a loving church family, and many other dear family and friends. Treca was preceded in death by her mother and father; one sister, Patsy Chatterton; and brothers-in-law Charles Howard, Jim Chatterton, and Donald Rowland. 

A celebration of life will be held at 10 am, Friday, January 26 at Southside Baptist Church in Poteau, Oklahoma, with Rev. Jim Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bentley Hill, Brent Hill, Jeremy Minor, Jason Lancaster, Nick Wann, Scott Rowland, Chuck Pack, and Max Hennig. Honorary Pallbearers include Jeff Bengs, Mike Chatterton, Charles Howard, Jr., Danny Musgrave, Mike Andrews, and Butch Chaplin.
