Utah Jones of Spiro, Oklahoma was born July 10, 1939 in Edgemont, Arkansas to Elige and Mary (Pettett) Jones and passed away May 11, 2020 in Spiro, Oklahoma at the age of 80.
He is survived by his wife Joyce of 62 years; two daughters, Doris Underwood and husband Steve and Barbara Tobler; one son Harold Jones and wife Debbie; seven grandchildren, Colton Jones, Stephen Underwood and wife Courtney, Martina Sapp and husband Mike, April Grunder and husband Brian, Jessica Oldaker and husband Deavin, Emily Jones, and Alex Williams; seven great grandchildren, Kensley Underwood, Easton Underwood, Aspen Sapp, Braxon Sapp, Caiden Grunder, Daelynn Grunder, and Crayton Oldaker; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Taylor and four brothers, Roy, Hubert, Dillard, and Henry Jones.
Utah enjoyed his family and friends, hunting and fishing, cooking, and decorating for Christmas. He worked for Spiro Public Schools and drove a bus for almost 30 years.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday at the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Viewing will be 9am-7pm on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Colton Jones, Stephen Underwood, Mike Sapp, Brian Grunder, Deavin Oldaker, and Alex Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Russell Girty, Steve Underwood, Don Smith, Geary Hamby, and Jerry Smith.
