Velvalee Campbell of Wister, Oklahoma was born October 29, 1944 in Heavener, Oklahoma to G.G. “Buddy” and Leah Fern (Crutchfield) Campbell and passed from this life on June 5, 2019 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 74.

Rayannah Ward and Noah Ward both of Heavener, Oklahoma
Five great-grandchildren:
Zaley Sanders and Piper Shoup both of Wister, Oklahoma
Tristen Hyde, Jaxten Hyde, and Kinsley Hyde all of Springfield, Missouri

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Leah Fern Campbell; her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Gwyndol and David Hogan; and a nephew, Warren Scott Campbell.
Velvalee was a 1962 graduate of Heavener High School and went to the Chicago Art Institute for 2 years. Her masterpiece was a painting of The Blessed Mother entitled “The Souls of Humanity”.
In 1992, she completed the painting in a year time frame in Alaska, Velvalee secured a tour featuring the painting in the European countries of Russia, Germany, and Scotland. She then toured with the painting on the west coast of the United States, finally settling on the North Shore of Hawaii, where she lived from 1994 until 2001. In 2001, she returned to Oklahoma where she lived out the rest of her days enjoying her family and hosting friends from all over the world.
The family will have a Celebration of Life for Velvalee at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the top of Runestone in Heavener, Oklahoma.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to Heavener Runestone or Gideon’s International in Velvalee’s name.
