Venita was a devoted military wife, spending many years supporting her husband, Larry Goble, as they traveled and built a life together while raising their children. She was known for her quick wit, fierce loyalty, and vibrant spirit, you always wanted her in your corner. Never one to be defined by age, Venita took up disco roller skating at 40 and later learned to clog, always embracing life with enthusiasm and grace.
She loved nothing more than time spent with her family, especially the cherished tradition of never-missed Sunday dinners. Her legacy is one of strength, laughter, and deep devotion to those she loved.
Venita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Goble; her parents; brothers Kenneth and Larry Montgomery; sister Reba Quintilla; and sisters-in-law Betty Grover and Sue Ollar.
She is survived by her children: Delores “Tuffy” LeBlanc and husband Layton of Howe, OK; Lois “Lulu” Lampkin and husband D.B. of Wister, OK; and Jeff Goble of Howe, OK. Her memory lives on through her grandchildren: Charles Patterson and wife Angie of Arlington, TX; Lanett Davis and husband Terry of Wister, OK; Laran Patterson and wife Michelle of Heartland, TX; Brett Lampkin and wife Andrea of Wister, OK; and Vicki Schrack and husband John of Fort Smith, AR. She was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Venita is also survived by her sisters: Helen Lane of Howe, OK; Joy Woolard of South Boston, VA; Mary Lynch and husband Don of San Antonio, TX; and Marge Montgomery of Texas; as well as brothers-in-law Harold Goble and wife Carol, Ron Grover, and M.C. Ollar.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma, with Jim Cook officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mountain View/Glendale Cemetery in Wister, Oklahoma, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Pallbearers will be Charles Patterson, Laran Patterson, Brett Lampkin, Adrian Moreno, Trey Davis, and Terry Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Goble, Ronald Grover, and M.C. Ollar and Clay Wolf.
