Verla Sue Shipman, 81, of Wister, OK passed away Sunday, July 08, 2018, in Poteau, OK.
Sue was born November 2, 1936, in Wister to Fred Cecil & Mildred Christine (Martin) Thompson.
She was a retired teacher.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Billy Gerald Shipman & special friend Bobbie Vickers.
Survivors include her daughters & their husbands, Karen Sue & Marty Wages, Kristie Jo & Mike Morgan of Wister; son & his wife, Billy Gene & Shanan Shipman of Heavener, OK, Steve & Shawn Brewster of Poteau, OK; grandchildren, Heather & JP Baldwin, Lacey & Wes Callahan, Kally & Mark Brand, Katelen Morgan, Grant Shipman, Keylee Shipman, Sydnee Shipman, Brooks Brewster; great grandchildren, Ty Slone, Colt Callahan, Chace Callahan, Millie Brand, Christen Brand, Madison Brand, Wyatt Brand, Leland Brand; other relatives, loved ones and many friends.
Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Wister School Cafetorium with Rev. Lynn Bullard & Rev. Bryan Fields & Jim Cook officiating.
Interment will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister.
Pallbearers will be Grant Shipman, Billy Shane Cripps, J.P. Baldwin, David Vise, David Wann, Ricky Crane & Rocky Crane.
The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
