Funeral Service for Veronica Louise Ritter, 57 of Spiro, Oklahoma will be at 2:00pm on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro, Oklahoma with Brother Jim Graham officiating. Services are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro,Oklahoma. Viewing will be on Thursday 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
Veronica was born on September 4, 1964 in Watonga, Oklahoma to Nadine Louise (Smith) Baxter and Delmer Granville Baxter and passed away on May 4, 2022 in Spiro, Oklahoma. She was married to Lawton Ritter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawton Ritter; step-father, Harvey Painter; sisters Anita Kay Baxter, Angela Baxter; and brother, Dale Ray Baxter, Jr. Veronica grew up in Panama, she was the oldest of four children and was a very loving and protective sister and a good friend. She loved canoeing, loved her computer, but her favorite thing was her love for Rock and Roll music. Elvis Presley and Kid Rock being her favorite. Veronica married Lawton Ritter and she had one son. In 1987 the family moved to Moore, Oklahoma where they lived for 13 years.
Veronica worked as a legal secretary and office manager for a prominent lawyer. In 2004 she was blessed with twin grandchildren. She took them home from the hospital and raised them for 17 years until the day she left this world. Veronica’s greatest love was for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her son Darrin and her grandchildren, Michael and Mikayla. Special thanks to Beckie Johnson, PeeWee Gollihare, and Heart of Hospice.
Survivors include her son, Darrin Baxter; sister, Sherrie Pennington and husband Roy; very special sister, BFF, partner in crime, Melanie Beebe; grandchildren, Michael Baxter, Mikayla Baxter, numerous other relatives and friends.
