A celebration of life for Viola Hooper will be held at 10am Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro, Oklahoma with Ryan Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Viewing hours will be 9am-7pm Thursday and Friday with the family visiting with friends 5pm-7pm.

Viola Dean Hooper was born on September 6, 1941 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Sam Edgar and Jewell Dean (Bell) McCormick and passed away on August 1, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 81. Viola is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Jewell; her husband, Charlie Hooper; one sister, Goldie Baker, and two brothers, Ed McCormick and Layne McCormick. Viola was a member of the Poteau Church of Christ and enjoyed quilting and volunteering at the church.

Viola is survived by her children, Roseanna Ginn and husband Wesley; Tonya Ranae Sharp and husband Dan; Robert Keith Gravlee and wife Mely; and Ryan Hooper and wife Cindie; twelve grandchildren, Jeremy Gravlee, Joshua Gravlee, Cody Ginn, Dakota Ginn, Kris Hooper, Daniel Gravlee, Wesley Ginn, Mikki Gravlee, Rachel Gravlee, Farin Whited, Rebecca Gasparratto, and Jessica Oliver; ten great grandchildren, Annabelle Dallago, Brannock Gravlee, Caleb Poindexter, Mia Martin, Gemma Ator, Avery Gravlee, Jasmine Ginn, Lexi Ginn, Jacob Gasparratto, and Maisy Gasparrato; as well as two on the way; three sisters, Francis Watts, Marie Crabtree and husband James, Anna Stout and husband Doug; three brothers, Jim McCormick and wife Chris, Sam McCormick and wife Debbie and Tony McCormick and wife Thelma; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Keith Gravlee, Daniel Gravlee, Josh Gravlee, Cody Ginn, Dakota Ginn, Wes B. Ginn, Jeremy Gravlee, Kris Hooper, and Caleb Poindexter. Condolences can be made to the family on Viola’s online guestbook at www.mallorymartinfuneralhome.com
