Walter "Smokey" Blankenship was born on September 28, 1954 in Melbourne, Arkansas to Christine (Hodge) Blankenship and Nelson Walter Blankenship and passed away on August 12, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  He was married to Marcia (Reynolds) Day on June 15, 2017 in Poteau, Oklahoma. Smokey was the proud owner of B & S Small Engines, and worked on lawnmowers all over LeFlore County. When Smokey was not working on lawnmowers he was collecting coins, or guns or making something out of wood, and he loved his Minnesota Vikings.

He loved helping the children in every way. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and Air Force, just more proof of his giving heart, willing to serve his Country.
