Wanda was born on February 17, 1933, in Spiro, Oklahoma, to Alma May (Turner) Graham and Cletties Lee Graham. She passed away on August 31, 2026, in Spiro, Oklahoma, at the age of 93.

She married Edgar “Popcorn” Woods on October 25, 1950. Together they shared many years of marriage until his passing on May 16, 1997.

Wanda had a gift for taking care of people, and nowhere was that more evident than in her kitchen. She worked as a cook at the Spiro Nursing Home for more than 20 years, where everything she prepared was made from scratch. She became especially well known for her homemade biscuits and chocolate gravy, and the nursing home staff could also look forward to her blackberry wine cake. Cooking wasn’t simply something Wanda did—it was one of the ways she showed people she loved them.

Her generosity extended far beyond the kitchen. Wanda was big-hearted and would give anything she had to help someone else. Her home was a place where people were welcomed, cared for, and, more often than not, fed. One of the first things she would ask someone walking through her door was, “Are you hungry?” She took people in, looked after them, and always found room for one more.

Wanda was loving and giving, but those who knew her best also knew she had a little fire in her. She was nice—until she wasn’t—and her family affectionately loved that spirited side of her just as much as everything else.

She absolutely loved to travel and especially enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play ball. She also enjoyed sewing and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by the people she loved. Her family extended well beyond blood relatives. The nurses and staff who cared for her became family to Wanda, just as so many people throughout her life found a place in her heart and home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Woods; son, Eddie Woods; grandson, Michael Haley; granddaughter, Brittany Woods; sisters, Dora Ramsey, Carolyn Sue Graham, and an infant sister; brother, Clifford Graham; and sons-in-law, Michael Howard and Ricky Darneal.
