Wanda Joyce Conrad was born November 13, 1935 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the Harrison and Bessie (Welch) Simpson, and passed away October 10, 2018 in Spiro, Oklahoma at the age of 82.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Conrad of the home, two sons; Richard Vigus and Steve Vigus both of Rudy, Arkansas, one step-daughter; Debbie Gregor of Spiro, Oklahoma, two step-sons; Stanley Conrad and wife Mickey of Little Rock, Arkansas, Eddie Conrad and wife Bronwyn of Plummerville, Arkansas, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Bessie Simpson, her sister, Mildred Britton, and four brothers; Bill, Alfred, Leon, and Hershel Simpson.
Wanda graduated from Keota High School in 1954, and after graduation she had a wide range of employment.
She worked for the phone company in Keota as an operator, she worked at DHS in Stigler, she then moved to California and worked at Port Mugu Naval Air Station.
After this she returned back to Spiro and began working at Riverside Furniture where she retired after 28 years.
She was a member of Murry Spur Free Will Baptist Church in Spiro, Oklahoma, member of the Order of Easter Star #184 in Stigler, Oklahoma.
She was an officer with the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3860 where she served as Local President, Regional President, and State President. Wanda helped with many charities and will be missed my many.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Friday, October 12, 2018 at Murry Spur Freewill Baptist Church with Revered C.L. Thomas and Mister Sherman Stahl officiating.
The family will visit with friends from 6pm-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
