William Lewis Howard, Jr. of Heavener, Oklahoma was born January 20, 1943 in Jackson Township, Missouri to William Lewis, Sr. and Violet Mae (Handley) Howard and passed away March 5, 2019 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 76.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dawn Hughes; one son, Larry Eugene Ferguson; three brothers, James, Raymon, Edward (Yogi) Howard; one sister, Ada Sayre and husband, Wayne; and a sister-in-law, Edyth Howard.
William was a long-time resident of the area and retired from the military where he served his country in the United States Navy. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era. William loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
A committal service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 at the United States National Cemetery with military honors by the U. S. Navy in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Reverend Ray Weaver officiating.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Heavener Assembly of God Church in Heavener, Oklahoma. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
