Willie Frankie Peevyhouse Obituary Featured

Willie Frankie Peevyhouse, 90, of Stigler, Oklahoma was born March 14, 1927 to Frank Peevyhouse and Lillie (Reid) Peevyhouse in the community of Antioch and grew up in the Rocky Ridge community all near Stigler, Oklahoma. He passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 after a long illness.

 

Willie was a World War II Veteran and lifelong Stigler resident.

 

Willie served in US Army during WWII stationed in Japan operating a Seaman Landing Craft and was a Rifle M-1 Expert..He was very proud to be a Veteran ... He was active in the local VFW Post serving in many capacities of leadership including Post Commander.... also served as the District Commander winning some state honors. He loved working with the youth on Voice of Democracy Essays & Scholarships.

 

Willie married Freda Lucille Krumsiek on October 30, 1947 they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year in October.

 

They had 3 children: Lonnie, Pamela and Jeffrey.

 

Willie was a long time cattle ranch owner in Haskell County but also helped in the construction of Lake John Wells, The Cookson Hills Rural Electric Coop and the Haskell County Hospital in the late 1950's and early 1960's.

 

He later went to work at the county hospital in maintenance to keep the place running. In earlier years he worked at the McAlester Ammunition Depot in McAlester but due to distance discontinued his employment there for a time and then returned later in his life, promoted to supervisor and retired with 20 years of service in 1975. While working at the McAlester Ammunition Depot he managed to buy a van and provide transportation for over 10 years, for himself and others to relieve the hardship in this area to many people & enable them to travel to good jobs.

 

Willie volunteered as a local Boy Scout Leader with Louis Fioretti for many years producing 3 eagle scouts: son, Jeff; grandson, Dusty; and Louis’s son, Steven, and a couple more boys that achieved eagle later on....there were many years of campout fun, trips and great stories.

 

Willie was a happy person who loved to visit with his friends and neighbors but never met a stranger; he loved his family, he loved the rain but he was cheerful in all weather...he liked to fish & hunt but hardly took time to do so but he also loved to work and he worked really hard all his life and taught his children and grandchildren to work. He was soft spoken but his words were important, easy going and kindest man ever walked this earth. He was a loyal husband, true friend, great father, wonderful brother, and an outstanding & proud grandfather.

 

Survivors include: his wife, Lucille Peevyhouse of Stigler; son, Lonnie Peevyhouse and wife, Katina of Stigler, ok ; one daughter, Pamela Peevyhouse McDaniel and husband, Benny of Lequire, Ok; Jeff’s fiance, Kirstan “Krissy” Unti-Fleming; 3 brothers: Huston Peevyhouse and wife, Virginia; James Peevyhouse and wife; Wanda of Horton, Kansas; Bufford Peevyhouse and wife JeanE of Hutchinson, Kansas. 4 sisters: Lula Pearson of Stigler, Ok; Anna Lou Pugh of Kinta, Ok; Lennie Stubblefield of Stigler, Ok; and Wanda Faye Hall of Bakersfield, California.

 

Grandchildren: Julie Zwirtz & Robin of OKC; Sherrie Hamilton & Warren of Stigler; Kimberly Apple & David of Stigler; Holly Wood of Stigler; Loretta Childers & Kyle of Bethel, ok, Travis Peevyhouse & Danielle of Seminole, Ok; Dusty McDaniel & Susan of Lequire, Ok; Shelby Offineer & Ryan of Muldrow, Ok; Brandon McDaniel & Sabrina of Poteau, Ok; Ariana Eakle of Independence, Mo; Alizabeth Eakle of Enterprise, Ok; and Adeline Eakle of Enterprise, OK.

 

Great-Grandchildren: Xavier, Liao,Alexander, Julian, Lucien, Lola, Maxim, Ivory, Gaius, Jerrod, Rainy, Callie, Wyatt, Valynn, Dylan, Mikayla, Collyn, Haele, Faith, Blair, Riley, Jaxon, Kole, Kaydence, Britni,Michael, Cora, Chloe.

 

Great-Great-Grandchildren: Jace, Brantly, Macey & 2 more on the way.

 

Brother-in-laws/sister-in-laws and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

Preceded in death by his son: Jeffrey Peevyhouse; parents Frank and Lillie (Reid) Peevyhouse; his inlaws, Jasper & Lucy (Honeycutt) Krumsiek; 2 brothers: Robert Peevyhouse & Beatrice (Pebble) ; Melvin Peevyhouse & Dovie; 2 sisters: Julia Carlile & Sam; Myrtle Bowen & Otis; brothernlaws: John Pugh, Jimmy Stubblefield, Author Pearson; Paul Hall, Kenneth Pugh; sisternlaws: Lillian Peevyhouse, Lillie Peevyhouse.

 

Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Robin Zwirtz,Warren Hamilton,David Apple,Kyle Childers,Travis Peevyhouse,Dusty McDaniel,Ryan Offineer & Brandon McDaniel.

 

Services will be Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Mallory Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler, Oklahoma.

 

Burial will follow at San Bois Cemetery South of Stigler, Oklahoma.

 

Honorary pallbearers are: Benny McDaniel, Louis Fioretti and local Elliot-Warren VFW Post 4446.

 

Full Military Honors will be conducted by Elliot-Warren VFW Post 4446.

 

Funeral procession will be escorted by Patriot Guard Riders.

 

Family Visitation will be 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

 

The funeral is under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Stigler, Oklahoma.
