According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Sallisaw woman was injured in a one vehicle accident that occurred on September 24, 2019 at approximately 9:43am, 9 miles north of Sallisaw in Sequoyah County.

 

According to the report, a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic driven by Janet Echer 58, of Sallisaw, was eastbound on 970 Road and failed to stop at the intersection at 4690 Road. Echer went through the intersection, struck a tree, and rolled over onto the driver’s side.

 

She was pinned n her vehicle for approximately 45 minutes before being extricated by the Sallisaw Fire Department using the Jaws of Life.

 

She was transported by Pafford EMS to Baptist Health in Ft. Smith and was admitted in stable condition for head and trunk internal injuries.
