Second Chances has been helping to change lives in the community with their Motto “Be the Change” which offers resources that help restore families and individuals struggling with the devastating effects of addiction.

According to their website: Second Chances Recovery has been helping people since 2015 with addiction and life-controlling problems on a limited basis due to the lack of recovery housing and resources. There is an overwhelming need for substance abuse recovery services in our area, especially for those who have no insurance or resources to pay.

According to Terri Sanchez, Director, her vision to help women is finally coming true after a 10-year process. They can now provide the much-needed help with a new housing facility for women.

The new recovery center can house up to 10 ladies at a time with sober living recovery services.

“It is all because of the great community that have supported us, the furniture and décor have all been provided by the people who have donated to the resale the store,” says Sanchez.

The grand opening and ribbon cutting took place on Jan 9, 2026, at their location at 1309 S Broadway in Poteau.

Thanks to Sanchez, her staff, and Second Chances Board members for making a difference in the lives of those who are struggling and desperate for hope.
