NORMAN — Oklahoma sophomore designated hitter Easton Carmichael was named to the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings Division I All-Central Region Team, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced the teams Tuesday.

Carmichael earned All-Region second team honors at the DH position for his exceptional season at the plate for the Big 12 champion Sooners. The Prosper, Texas, product started 60 of OU’s 61 games and hit .366 with seven home runs, 19 doubles and five triples to go with a team-best 93 hits and 64 runs batted in.

The sophomore paced OU with 32 multi-hit games to accompany 15 multi-RBI games. The All-Big 12 first team selection had multiple hits in six of OU’s nine postseason games.

In Big 12 play, Carmichael led the league with 52 hits, 39 RBIs and four triples while batting .406. He ranked in the top five in Big 12 play in four other categories, including runs scored (37), doubles (10) and total bases (85).

Carmichael collects OU’s first all-region nod since three Sooners earned the distinction in 2022.

The Sooners capped a Big 12 regular season championship season with the program’s second 40-win season in the last three years and 41st NCAA tournament appearance.
