Dickerson helped OU to an undefeated week with a Tuesday win over rival Oklahoma State and three-game SEC sweep at Missouri. The Lee’s Summit, Mo., product went 7-for-14 (.500) with three extra-base hits, including his second career home run, and five runs batted in. Dickerson also drew three walks for a .588 on-base clip, and scored seven runs on the week.
The frosh designated hitter recorded a career best three hits in each of the first two games of the series at Missouri, also putting up career highs for RBIs (3) and runs scored (3) in game two.
On the year, Dickerson is hitting .314 with seven extra-base hits, including two home runs and 12 RBIs in 23 games played and 12 starts.
Dickerson shares the award with Florida’s Brendan Lawson. It is Dickerson’s first and the third SEC weekly accolade for the Sooners this season as junior pitcher Kyson Witherspoon has collected two SEC Pitcher of the Week honors this season.
The No. 14 Sooners (29-10, 10-8 SEC) return to action Tuesday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. CT at L. Dale Mitchell Park for a midweek matchup with Oral Roberts. The game can be seen via SECN+ and heard on 99.3 FM/1400 AM The REF or nationwide on The Varsity Network app.
