RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the baseball weekly award winners for the fifth week of the 2025 season. Oklahoma Baptist’s DJ Van Atten claimed Player of the Week and Southern Arkansas’ Beau Leonards earned Pitcher of the Week.

#theGAC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DJ Van Atten, DH, Oklahoma Baptist, Sr., Latta, Oklahoma
Van Atten hit .750 and reached base 12 times in 15 plate appearances after the Bison swept East Central. He scored three times in game one. He went 2-for-3 with four RBI in game two. He collected three hits, including a home run in the series finale. He drove in five runs, scored six runs and drew five walks in the series.

#theGAC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Beau Leonards, SP, Southern Arkansas, Sr., Frisco, Texas
Leonards registered his first complete game of the season as he defeated Ouachita Baptist, 4-2, on Friday night. He struck out a career-high 13, surrendered three hits and issued just one walk. He struck out multiple batters in five of seven innings. He did not allow an earned run as he lowered his ERA to 4.08.
