RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC men’s basketball players of the week for the 11th week of the season. Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Max Alexander captured the Offensive Player of the Week honor and Oklahoma Baptist’s Erik Madrid earned the Defensive Player of the Week award.

#theGAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Max Alexander, G, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., McPherson, Kansas
Alexander averaged a conference-leading 29.0 points per game last week. He put up 27 on 11-of-21 shooting against Harding. He added four rebounds and three assists. He produced his fourth 30-point game of the season in the Rangers’ win against Arkansas Tech. In scoring 31, he reached the 1,000-point milestone as a Ranger. He added six rebounds and four assists.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Erik Madrid, C, Oklahoma Baptist, So., Tulsa, Oklahoma
Madrid averaged 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 steals as he helped the Bison defeat Southern Arkansas and Arkansas- Monticello. Of his 16 rebounds, 13 came at the defensive end. The three blocks in both games matched a season high and his three steals against UAM represented a career high. The Bison extended their win streak to eight, their longest since 2021.
