RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC men’s basketball players of the week for the final week of the regular season. Ouachita Baptist’s Christian Parks earned the Offensive Player of the Week honor and Oklahoma Baptist’s Erik Madrid won the Defensive Player of the Week accolade.

Parks doubled his season total of double-doubles after he tallied 14 points and 11 rebounds in a win against Southern Arkansas followed by a season-high 23 points and 12 rebounds in a victory against Arkansas-Monticello. He went 18-of-24 from the floor to raise his field-goal percentage to 70.5 percent. He blocked five shots against SAU.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Erik Madrid, C, Oklahoma Baptist, So., Tulsa, Oklahoma
In a road win against Northwestern and a home triumph against East Central, Madrid grabbed a total of 20 rebounds – 16 defensive. His 11 rebounds against the Rangers represented his fifth double-digit rebound effort of the season. He blocked two shots in both victories. He finished the regular season by averaging 8.6 rebounds over his final seven games.
