RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s basketball players of the week for the fifth week of the 2024-25 season. Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Camron McDowell earned Offensive Player of the Week and Ouachita Baptist’s Hobert Grayson claimed Defensive Player of the Week.

#theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Camron McDowell, G, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., Griffin, Georgia
McDowell registered the eighth 40-point game in Division II this season – and the second of his career – as he tallied 41 in an 89-75 win against reigning champion Arkansas Tech. He went 12-for-19 from the floor and 5-for-9 from the 3-point arc. He scored nine points against Harding. For the week, he shot 15-for-23 overall, 6-for-10 on 3-point tries.

#theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Hobert Grayson, F, Ouachita Baptist, Jr., Gonzales, Louisiana
Grayson collected two double-doubles – his fifth and sixth in eight games – in contests against East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma State. He pulled down 14 rebounds against the Tigers. He followed up with 13 rebounds and two steals against the Savage Storm. His 12.4 rebounds per game rank fourth in Division II.
