RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC men’s basketball players of the week for the fourth week of the season. Henderson State’s Xavier Owens won the Offensive Player of the Week accolade and Harding’s Wesley Booker claimed the Defensive Player of the Week honor.

#theGAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Xavier Owens, G, Henderson State, Sr., Houston, Texas
Owens scored 18 points in two Reddies’ victories – against Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central – to open GAC play. Against the Savage Storm, he went 8-for-10 from the floor – 2-of-3 from the 3-point arc – and grabbed six rebounds. Against ECU, he scored the Reddies’ first 12 points. He made 7-of-9 shots to post a 78.9 field goal percentage for the week.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Wesley Booker, G, Harding, Gr., Mount Vernon, Arkansas
Booker helped the Bisons extend their win streak to six after he averaged 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in victories against Southwestern Oklahoma State and Northwestern Oklahoma State. He totaled six defensive rebounds, a block and a steal against the Bulldogs. He grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds against the Rangers. He added three blocks.
