West came off the bench and netted a career-high 21 points as the Reddies rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Arkansas-Monticello, 66-64. He collected a loose ball and scored the go-ahead basket with 16.8 seconds remaining. He finished 10-of-12 from the floor and he collected six rebounds.
#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tracy Godfrey, Jr., F, Southern Nazarene, Sr., Lubbock, Texas
Godfrey, Jr. grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds in the Crimson Storm’s 30-point win against Southeastern Oklahoma State. He recorded his fourth double-double of the season. He added a steal. The Savage Storm shot just 35.4 percent in the game, 26.1 percent in the second half.
#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tyson Whybrew, F, Henderson State, Jr., Pflugerville, Texas
Whybrew anchored the Reddies with a strong all-around effort as he finished with seven rebounds, four steals and a block in just 25 minutes of action. He had recorded just three steals total in his previous seven games. The seven rebounds represented his most in five games.
