RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s basketball players of the week for the seventh week of the 2024-25 season. Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Camron McDowell and Kabeya Tshibangu captured the Offensive and Defensive honors following two conference wins.

#theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Camron McDowell, G/F, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., Griffin, Georgia
McDowell, the GAC’s top scorer, averaged 31.5 points per game in an overtime win against Southeastern Oklahoma State and a 10-point win against East Central. He scored 38 points on 14-of-24 shooting against the Savage Storm. He followed up with 25 points, five rebounds and five assists against the Tigers. He shot 54.5 percent overall and 41.2 percent from the 3-point arc.

#theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kabeya Tshibangu, F, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., Justin, Texas
Tshibangu averaged 11.0 rebounds in two Ranger wins. He grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds against Southeastern Oklahoma State. He picked up a season-high three steals. He added eight rebounds against East Central. He had registered at least eight rebounds in each of his last four games. He ranks fifth in the conference in rebounds per game at 6.8.
