RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s basketball players of the week for the second week of the 2024-25 season. Arkansas Tech’s Cassius Brooks earned Offensive Player of the Week and Oklahoma Baptist’s Nathan Wilson garnered Defensive Player of the Week.

#theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Cassius Brooks, G, Arkansas Tech, Sr., Chicago, Illinois
Brooks scored a career-high 29 points in the Wonder Boys’ top-25 meeting with Dallas Baptist. He connected on 10-for-19 from the floor and went 4-for-9 from the 3-point arc. He added four steals and three assists. In three games, he has averaged 23.0 points per game and shot 45.5 percent on 3-point attempts.

#theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Nathan Wilson, F, Oklahoma Baptist, Sr., Auckland, New Zealand
Wilson pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds as the Bison collected their second win of the season. Eight of his rebounds came at the defensive end. He added three blocks and a steal. Offensively, he scored 13 points for his fourth double-double. Thus far, he leads the GAC and ranks eighth in the country in blocks per game, 2.7.
