RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s and women’s basketball players of the week for the second week of the 2023-24 season. Harding’s Rylie Marshall won the men’s honor while the Lady Bisons’ Sage Hawley and Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Caitlin Kobiske shared the women’s award.

 #theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Rylie Marshall, G, Harding, So., Beebe, ArkansasMarshall came up with the biggest play in Harding’s overtime win at UAFS as he connected on a 70-foot desperation heave at the end of regulation. He scored a career-high 17 points and nabbed a career-high four steals. He added seven rebounds. Harding won its first non-conference road game against a Division II opponent since defeating UAFS on December 3, 2019.

 #theGAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sage Hawley, F, Harding, Sr., Memphis, TennesseeHawley led the Lady Bisons to two 20-point home wins. Against Cameron, she made 12-of-14 shots, grabbed six rebounds, blocked five shots and tallied four assists. Against Christian Brothers, she registered a double-double - 21 points and 10 rebounds. She went 10-of-17 from the floor to shoot 71.0 percent for the week.

 #theGAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Caitlin Kobiske, F, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Jr., Keller, TexasKobiske helped the Savage Storm overcome an 18-point first-half deficit against Midwestern State as she scored 26 points in the 77-62 victory. She connected on 9-of-11 shots from the floor and all eight of her free throws. She added 11 rebounds for the seventh double-double of her career to go along with three assists and a pair of steals.
