RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s basketball players of the week for the 12th week of the 2024-25 season. Southern Arkansas’ Tequaza Chambers captured Offensive Player of the Week and Harding’s Sage Hawley claimed Defensive Player of the Week.

#theGAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tequaza Chambers, G, SAU, Sr., Plain Dealing, Louisiana
Chambers averaged 22.0 points per game on 59.3 percent shooting as the Muleriders split their contests with Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene. She scored 19 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out three assists in a win against the Bison. She followed up with 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting in an overtime contest against the first-place Crimson Storm.

#theGAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sage Hawley, F, Harding, Gr., Memphis, Tennessee
Hawley extended her streak of games with multiple blocks to six as she rejected three against Northwestern Oklahoma State and two against Southwestern Oklahoma State. She added nine blocks and two steals against the Rangers. She followed up with seven rebounds against the Lady Bulldogs. She needs 10 rebounds to move into the top 25 in Division II history.
