RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC women’s basketball players of the week for the 13th week of the season. Harding’s Kori Sanders and Henderson State’s Natalie Cardenas shared the Offensive Player of the Week award and Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Landry Allen won the Defensive Player of the Week accolade.

#theGAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kori Sanders, G, Harding, Fr., Lamar, Arkansas
Sanders helped the Lady Bisons pick up three wins and move into sole possession of first place. She averaged 18.0 points per game on 55.6 percent shooting. She went 11-for-17 from the 3-point arc. Against Ouachita Baptist, she tallied nine assists. Against No. 25 Arkansas Tech, she recorded a double-double – 20 points, 10 rebounds. She scored 17 vs Southern Arkansas.

#theGAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Natalie Cardenas, G, Henderson State, Jr., Mesquite, Texas
Cardenas registered three-straight 20-point games and shot 60.0 percent from the 3-point arc in guiding the Reddies to three wins. She totaled 22 points and 10 rebounds against Southern Arkansas. She followed up with 25 points and six rebounds against rival Ouachita Baptist. She went 8-for-12 from the floor en route to tallying 24 points against Arkansas-Monticello.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Landry Allen, F, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., Tuttle, Oklahoma
Allen broke the GAC and school record for blocks in a game after she rejected 13 shots against rival Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday. The total tied for the most in any NCAA game this season. She finished two rebounds shy of a triple-double. She added three steals. For the week, she averaged 6.5 rebounds per game.
